ABOUT-TOUBA

I am a multidisciplinary artist who works with still, moving image, and print.

My work is focused on power and public space, distortion of image and gender. In my recent body of work, I worked with a combination of archival news footage to examine the influence of distorted images of mainstream media on our everyday life. In the Untouched series I reference the subject of women’s bodies and public space in Iran by creating scans of bodies that experienced unwanted touch in public space.

I was born in Tehran Iran in 1986, and currently work and live in London, UK. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Print media from Art University, Tehran and MA Moving Image from University of the arts London.

My work has been shown in Transient vision (festival of Moving image, New york) and Selected photographer in 11th Iran national Photo Biennial.
